ePortfolio Assignment 1
Primitives
For my Primitives assignment, I first wanted to emulate a Japanese city with primitive shapes only, but the biggest problem was how complex making my city reference would've been, so I sticked to just making a mansion. I intended on making a mansion with a pool so I can have some reflection of light in my picture, and it made the composition a bit more aesthetic as intended. Overall I think I could say with this I can achieve the viewer's eye, I just could've probably spent more time on tiling around the pool though.
Marker
For the marker, I believe I had been marked down for not putting enough effort into the UV texturing and cap. For this assignment I had really been stuck on what I needed to do to be able to project a better looking texture so that's why it seems so flat to the viewer's eye. The model I believe looks great, but the texturing, and overall aesthetic of the render, might not be.
Table & Chair
I believe this was probably the easiest assignment: The ability to make furniture as a whole seems to not be so difficult to me, and these renders of my project shows it. The one thing that I had difficulty with in this project had been the cushions of the chairs. It might be hard to see, but I tried to emulate the punctured in look of cushion chairs, but sadly it doesn't seem to catch much light to be seen. Maybe if I could've changed the lighting up it'd be more noticeable? Overall I could say that this looks pleasing to the eye (and could have more objects put in to remove negative space).
Wine Bottle
This project seemed to be very straightforward and easy, if you were following along. This is also where I began to truly understand how UV editing works and how to edit your UV snapshot to get the perfect texturing, as well as being able to emulate glass, and learning material presets. Sadly our model was remade, but the ability to understand texturing really made this one a good project to work on. The wine bottle looks solid.
Pudding & Pasta
For this one, I sadly hadn't caught up on how to emulate a solid texture inside of a glass texture, thus my pasta looking to be more of some type of jelly. The Pudding, and Jar of the pasta, however, seemed to have been made pretty well (courtesy of yours truly). I may not have gotten the best grade for this assignment but I do believe that it'll make me strive to do better as an animator and or modeler.
Grocery Shelf
And now for what looks to be the hardest project, had somewhat been the easiest. Now from what all that we've learned, hopefully most of the class and I can safely say that they didn't have much of a hard time knowing what to do if they followed along. And so, for my grocery shelf I wanted to do a cereal aisle of my favorite cereals along the years. Overall I believe that any cereal lover could say that this is very pleasing to the eye, especially if all of this cereal were theirs.
